If you’re looking for a great-looking, everyday digital camera that fits in your pocket slimmer than most cell phones, the new Canon Powershot SD1400 series might be the most powerful and easy-to-use point and shoot camera available.
Let’s start with your first defense against taking lame or poorly focused pictures: the LCD screen. One of my favorite things about the Canon Powershot SD1400 is that the 2.7-inch LCD viewfinder is brilliant and easy to see, even if you’re looking at an angle or out in really bright sunlight. It’s scratchproof and has an anti-reflective coat, so when you’re framing a picture at night in the dark or outside at the beach, you can always see it with great clarity.
Next, the actual camera is rated at 14.1 megapixels, which is huge for a compact camera that only weighs in just over 4.5 ounces and is only .70 inches thick. If you want to blow up a shot of someone to a life-size print, it’s no problem at all, or if you catch a brilliant moment in the background of a shot, you can easily zoom in and crop the photo to make a new picture that still has awesome clarity.
Finally, if you like taking video then you’ll love the Canon Powershot SD1400 as well. Not only is it capable of shooting videos in high def up to 720p, Canon also included an HDMI output so you can plug the SD1400 Elph right into an HDTV or monitor to watch your videos and view your pics.
