If you need to pick up a light and compact versatile digital camera to take great photos anywhere you go, then the Canon SD1400IS definitely deserves a look. I love that Canon decided to include a bunch of features to help those less skilled in the art of photography take great photos every time. First of all, there are twenty-two automatic modes that contain ideal settings for just about any condition! There’s even an underwater mode for use with the optional WP-DC37 waterproof case that you can get for the Canon SD1400IS separately! But more common settings include Beach for bright light daytime situations and Low Light for those dim situations where you need to take a natural looking picture and can’t use a flash.
Plus, when set to Smart AUTO mode, you don’t even have to worry about changing the settings—the camera just detects its surroundings and does it all for you. On top of that, it can also detect faces and smiles, so if you set it to Smart Shutter, the Canon SD1400IS will wait for the subject to crack a smile before snapping the picture! It can also use face detection to allow you to set up a family photo, and it will wait to take the picture until it sees your face join the group!
At 14.1 megapixels the Canon SD1400IS is a remarkable digital camera for the price!
