One of the coolest cameras I’ve seen released this year is the Canon Powershot SD1400 IS, combining some of the best performance available in a compact digital camera and incredible style that’s small enough to fit in your pocket but big enough to turn heads.

With 14.1-megapixel resolution, a 28mm wide-angle lens, and a digital 4x zoom that expands your view to that of a 112mm lens, the Powershot SD1400 is much more than just a pretty camera!

What I really liked about the Powershot SD1400 IS, like most of Canon’s recent Elph series cameras, is that it’s exceptionally easy to use.  First of all, the LCD monitor is really vivid, which is important for framing pictures, especially when you’re taking them in really bright sunlight or have to raise your arms and look at the monitor from an angle to get the shot.  Also, the Powershot SD1400 IS has over twenty different automatic modes to get you the perfect shot.  Tired of snow shots looking unnatural and blue?  Just use the Snow mode! Want a shot of a blue sky meeting the ocean on a sunny day? Check out the Beach setting to counteract excess light.

One of the coolest settings for me was the Indoor setting, which was great for getting natural shots indoors with no flash, since usually flash photography comes out really white and unnatural inside. Plus, when used with Canon’s Optical Image Stabilizer, the pictures are sure to come out in focus even in a dim light.

With all of its capabilities and its really cool casing and design, the Canon Powershot SD1400 is a perfect choice for a compact camera you can use just about anywhere.
